Mamma Lucia

I had a delightful dining experience at Mama Lucia in Olney, Maryland. The food was not just good; it was excellent. I savored a delicious combination of pizza and ravioli, and they were prepared to perfection. The flavors were simply outstanding. Our server, Roberto, deserves a special mention for his kindness and helpfulness throughout our meal. He went above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable dining experience. His attentiveness and knowledge of the menu truly enhanced our visit. To top it off, we enjoyed a fine selection of wines that complemented our meal beautifully. Mama Lucia is a wonderful place for a delicious Italian meal with exceptional service. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a culinary delight in Olney. Parking was great as its in a shopping center .

It's a nice little pizza shop for friends and family. The pizza isn't 100% NYC-style, but coming up from Raleigh, NC to visit peeps, it was close enough to enjoy a near real deal experience with a thin crispy crust, excellent mix of cheese, and a tangy sauce. The gluten free pizza order by one of our party was soupy, but tasty. Both lies needed another 60 seconds in the oven. Nice staff, just busy to the point I didn't get a needed drink refill. Still, I'd go back, and recommend it for a casual night out where catching up on conversation with old friends is on the menu.

Always a favorite with us. The service is always good and the food is just fantastic. One person in our group got this spinach salad and it was so good that all of us started trying to steal bits of it from her. Their pizza is truly one of the best you'll find in the DC metro area. You basically have to go to New York to get a better New York style pizza. This is always a go-to place when we just want a good slice of pizza and a very casual atmosphere. Highly recommend if you're into a good slice of New York styled pizza get yourself over to Mamma Lucia. Side note their gluten-free cauliflower crust pizza is also really good. So if you can't eat gluten this is still a great place for you to grab a slice of pizza.

First, I'd like to note that this place was very busy. Not sure if this had anything to do with things but it really shouldn't. Our server was a nice young girl, very polite but not really helpful with suggestions. IDK if she was new or if she just doesn't eat there or maybe she only eats specific things, none of which were things we were asking which was pretty much all over the menu. But some ppl like what they like and don't try new things. She took our order accurately and made sure it came out in a timely fashion, for the most part. I had wings (of course, hi, my name is Rob, pleased to meet you) but told her not to hold off on the other food b\umtil they came out, just bring the food out when it's ready. Well, she must have been waiting for my wings bc when they hit the table, they were so hot, I thought they came right out the oven;so they had to sit for a bit. They were very,very good though. I had them in being bang sauce which was a little spicy but that spice was elevated by the temperature of the chicken. They were nice size pieces though. Shortly after that, our main course came out. At this point I only ate one wing but I want complaining at all. The food looked really good. Both of our plates. However, the food didn't have a whole lot of flavor but everything tasted fresh. Low on salt, which is good, but also low in flavor in general. The biggest problem was how the plates looked and felt. They looked dirty and felt dirty to the touch. I couldn't tell if the plates were made put of pumice stone or what but it felt prickly when I rubbed my hand over it but I was hungry and tired so I took a few bites and had it to go. Rubbing my hand over the plates didn't remove anything so either that was the style of the plates or the dirt was now baked into the material so it wasn't moving and likely sanitized and ok to eat off. At the end of our meal, we final;y received our salads that should've been the first thing out but I didn't really care bc I didn't want it anyway. I was happy to put the food in the tin container and out of the plate. Pros: Waiter had nice personality. Food smelled fresh. Food tasted fresh. Bread was good. Seating was fast although they were packed (luckily there were only 2 of us and the other parties were 4 or more). Con: Food had little flavor (other than original flavor of the seafood). Plates seemed unclean. Salads were forgotten til we reminded at the end.

Absolute rudest hostess I've ever encountered. We had a reservation for 5pm and when we arrived she was very dismissive because there were 6 of us. We said "oh, we made a reservation" and she actually signed out loud, snatched the menus off the counter and said "well, come on!". At 6:45 we still hadn't received our food. We had an engagement at 7pm and told them sorry, we HAVE to leave, can we have the bill for drinks? Nothing!! Our party finally had to stand up and all but 2 left the restaurant before the waiter came over and checked in with us. Unbelievable! So if you aren't hungry, appreciate rude/dismissive staff, and a smoke filled dining room.... this is the place for you!
